With this technology, we can treat all skin types, even tanned skin! We recommend starting with a series of 8-12 treatments spaced out every 4-6 weeks. AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR THIS PROCEDURE?
Permanent hair reduction is available for all skin types, including very light and very dark skin, and most hair colors. Your provider will determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure based on a variety of factors.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
8-12 treatments are recommended for the best aesthetic outcome and then touch-ups after that as needed. Permanent hair reduction technology can only affect hair in active phases of growth so several treatments are needed to affect all your unwanted hair. You do not need to let hair grow out between treatment sessions.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Typically, most people experience a mild, sunburn-like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling, immediately following the treatment. This usually lasts two to 24 hours. Ask your provider to discuss other possible side effects and the necessary post-treatment care with you.
WHAT DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL FEEL LIKE?
We use a sweeping motion that just feels like warmth, and the pulsing motion feels like a rubber
band snap. We can use a topical anesthetic or numbing gel if you are super sensitive.
CAN I RETURN TO WORK AND NORMAL ACTIVITIES IMMEDIATELY?
Yes, you can return to work and normal activities immediately. After laser hair removal, the treated site may feel like mild sunburn for 24 hours or more. Slight redness and swelling surrounding the hair follicles is normal and is actually an indicator of a good clinical response. Although irritating preparations such as glycolic acid and retinoids should be avoided, make-up can be applied to the treated area shortly after treatment.
